What we do

Shell, structural, and small commercial.

Three core service lines. Engineer-led on every job. Licensed under a single Florida CGC — not a patchwork of specialty subs.

Shell Contracting

Foundations, footings, slabs, structural concrete, masonry shell — taken as a subcontract scope under GCs who need licensed, engineering-grade oversight on critical path work.

Commercial Renovation

Full-scope general contracting on $50K–$300K commercial buildouts. Office, restaurant, retail, small new-construction. Where licensed CGC oversight is the value.

Coming

Concrete Restoration

Phase 2 capability. Surfside / SB 4-D / Milestone Inspection compliance work — spall repair, rebar replacement, epoxy injection. Contact us for current capacity.

Why CED

Four reasons we're worth a conversation.

Engineer-led

Principal trained as a field engineer before earning his GC. Reads drawings the way they were drawn.

Licensed CGC

Florida CGC1537995 — Certified General Contractor. Broader scope and higher standard than C-1 specialty licenses common at this scale.

Bilingual operations

English and Spanish, principal-to-crew. A real advantage in South Florida's labor market.

Family-owned

Newer company, older trade lineage. Two generations of South Florida construction in the family.

About CED

Two generations of South Florida construction.
One licensed GC.

CED Contractors is a Margate-based general contracting firm built on field experience, engineering training, and family. We are newer to bidding our own work — and we are not newer to the work itself.

The principal trained as a field engineer and spent six years on commercial construction sites across South Florida — hospitality primarily, plus structural concrete and foundations. That discipline earned the Florida Certified General Contractor credential that now leads every project CED takes on.

Two generations of construction live in this family. The heritage runs deeper than the LLC. The license is new; the trade is not.

Field-engineered foundations across South Florida. The trade was passed down before CED carried the license — the discipline shows in every pour.

Principal

Meet José M.

Field Engineer · Florida CGC · Principal

José has spent six years as a field engineer on commercial construction sites across South Florida — hospitality projects primarily, plus structural concrete and foundation work. That hands-on background is what CED brings to every job: drawings read carefully, schedules respected, code understood as a baseline rather than a target.

What CED stands for

Four standards. No compromises.

License-first

Every job under a Florida CGC. Not a specialty patchwork.

Engineer-trained

Plans understood, codes respected, scope tracked carefully.

Family-anchored

Two generations in South Florida construction. Reputation matters.

Honest about where we are

New to bidding our own work. Direct about it. The work itself is not new.

License & Credentials

Florida Certified General Contractor.

The Florida CGC is the broadest commercial license issued by the Department of Business and Professional Regulation. CED carries it — not a C-1 specialty license, not an unregistered handyman LLC.

General Contracting

Full-scope GC services under Florida CGC. Permits pulled in CED's name. Trade coordination, draw schedules, lien-chain protection (NTO).

Phase 2

Concrete Restoration

What we don't do

We focus on the work we know. If your project needs scope outside our core — high-rise concrete, MEP-heavy ground-up, large-tonnage steel, A/C, pool, roofing replacement — we'll tell you upfront. Where we have trusted partners, we'll refer. Where we don't, we'll say so.

From the field

Hands-on commercial work across South Florida.

Some of these are CED projects. Others are projects the principal supervised as a field engineer before CED took its own contracts. All of them are real.

We don't borrow other contractors' photos. We don't inflate timelines. The honesty itself is the differentiator.

For partners

The licensed partner for your next project.

For GCs needing a shell sub. For developers needing a licensed GC partner. For investors who need execution they can trust.

For General Contractors

A shell sub with CGC-level oversight.

Foundations, slabs, masonry — under a single Florida CGC license rather than a patchwork of specialty subs. Available for overflow work, specific scopes, or project-by-project subcontracting.

Add CED to your bid list

For Developers & Investors

A licensed GC on the project that needs attention.

Smaller scale, more direct attention. $50K–$300K commercial renovations, ground-up small commercial, hospitality renovation. Where engineering oversight and CGC certification are the value, not volume.

Discuss your project

For Architects

A contractor who reads drawings carefully.

The principal trained as a field engineer first. Spec reviews respected, RFIs handled with engineering literacy, drawings followed as drawn. Available to bid on projects under your design.
